The Nānākuli-Wai'anae Complex Area is applying for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant in August, 2020. If approved, the 21st CCLC program will provide students and their families with academic enrichment opportunities and support services to help meet state and local standards in core content areas.
Our proposed after-school program will include free after-school enrichment, physical well-being, social-emotional learning, culturally relevant learning activities, and academic support. Academic support and tutoring will be provided in areas including STEM, math, and reading. Enrichment and physical well-being activities include classes such as cooking, basketball, flag football, soccer, fitness, arts and crafts, media, dance, and photography. Should the need arise, virtual/online programs will be provided for students. We will offer opportunities for families and students to engage in family-focused events that showcase student work and performances, as well as provide other educational opportunities for families.
